Side Hustle 1: Drive For Lyft and/or Uber
Uber and Lyft are ride-sharing services launched in 2009 and 2012, respectively, competing with taxi companies. Both Uber and Lyft use mobile apps in which the customers use to order a ride.
The app is used in connecting drivers and passengers and also making payments. However, if I were to pick one option, I would go for Uber. This is because it offers multiple ride options and loyalty rewards and covers a wide coverage. Unlike Lyft that operates in Canada and United States only, Uber services are available internationally.
Pros
• It is simple and easy to use
• It does not involve the use of cash
• Its prices are more affordable
• The service is great
Cons
• There are reported cases of being scammed by drivers
• Cancelations
• There are also many safety concerns
Pros
• It is ideal for frequent riders
• It offers professional services
• It is easy to use
• It has a good reputation
Cons
• It has limited coverage and operates in Canada and United States
Income Differences
Lyft prices back then came in at $12.53, but this has changed dramatically due to the pandemic. The average transaction value is $27, with the fees for the services varying depending on the city and the type of vehicle chosen. For Uber services, different things are factored in to determine the prices, including time, distance, vehicle type, and city. In 2015, the average Uber trip was estimated to be $13.36, which increased to $20 in 2021. This means that working for Lyft earns you more compared to Uber.
Conclusion
To sum up, both Uber and Lyft are great riders and have helped improve the transportation industry. Individuals can now order for the riders in the comfort of their homes. However, if you are forced to pick one, Uber is the best for international traveling, and Lyft is a perfect choice for frequent riders.
Food Delivery Services
If you don’t like dealing with people or having people in your vehicle another option would be food delivery. Very similar to Uber or Lyft.
