Another tool I used, in the beginning, was keysearch.co. It was a reasonably priced keyword tool that did the job I needed. It gave me search volume, keyword difficulty(SCORE – see below), competition, backlinks to competitor websites. It reasonably priced at 17.00 a month. As I progressed, I need more features, thus me upgrading to another Keyword Tool.
The Next Level Keyword Tool would be ahrefs. It has everything that KW Finder has, with a few more additional benefits such as questions. It gives your questions about what people are asking and searching for on Google. It does come at a higher price though.
Google Keyword rank checker is another useful keyword research tool that can help you determine how your site or URL ranks compared to other competitor sites. It’s easy to input your link and get a report back, and free to use.

Good SEO writing includes best practices like the following:
- Mixing long tail and short keywords

Let’s look at an example of best practices for SEO writing, using YouTube since it is one of the most searched terms globally with 1.4 billion search volume. This good example is based on an existing article on another site. We’ll break down what they did right in red.

Simply put, a YouTube Channel is a personalized platform where creators can upload videos and viewers can watch their content. (the hook answers the question and is to the point). YouTube Channels are quite different from TV channels and are free to watch and create. This post will explain some frequently asked questions about YouTube Channels and how to use them. (the intro tells the reader what they can expect for the remainder of the article).

How many YouTube channels are there? (the post contains long tail keywords that expand the topic).
As of 2019, there were more than 31 million YouTube channels. (linking back to authoritative sources and sharing statistics that answer queries is another best practice).
This good example points out what the reader can expect, targeting people looking up how to use YouTube Channels. It uses a mix of short and longer keywords and it contains no extra fluff.
For bonus points, you can also add images with descriptions that include your keyword. There are a ton more best practices for SEO that include how to set up code on the backend and more, but for now focus on writing good, quality content. Once you master the basics, you can move on to more advanced SEO.
Example 2: Bad SEO Writing
There are plenty of poor SEO practices, and the Google search algorithm is smart enough to spot them all. If you get caught using these bad SEO practices, it will end up hurting you more than anything.
Do not do any of the following if you want to produce organic SEO:

- Using irrelevant keywords
- Fluffy content
- Poor grammar and structure

(did you catch the keyword stuffing and grammar mistake? Adding keywords like this where the sentence doesn’t need them is keyword stuffing)
Marketing on YouTube Channels is really easy. Lots of influencers parter with brands and can make lots of money. (the audience for this post isn’t clear! They also need to use a spellchecker)
You can make money on TikTok too – many influencers are also on Tik Tok. (adding irrelevant keywords). How many YouTube Channels are there? There are thousands of YouTube Channels. (using the same longtail keyword, but this example is not specific enough and does not contain a source for information).
You can start a YouTube Channel for free on YouTube under YouTube Channels. Simply create the YouTube Channel and upload videos to your YouTube Channel. (more keyword stuffing. Also, notice that the article doesn’t flow, which would make it difficult to skim)
Finally, this bad example uses no subheads. It’s not optimized with the reader in mind, and it’s not clear who the target audience of this piece is. If your content looks like this, you will not rank well even if you use SEO keywords because readers will click away from your site, indicating to Google that it shouldn’t rank on the first page.
